As with most of the population of the internet, I prefer Google search over any of the myriad of alternatives there are.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for the brand.. But regardless, here is how you get Google search inside your address bar in Microsoft's new Windows 8 variant of IE.
The first step is to head to http://www.iegallery.com/addons
In the recommended section is an add on for Google Search. The link for this will not open in the 'Modern', full screen version of Internet Explorer so if it doesn't seem to do anything when you click on the button then swipe in from the top or bottom and use 'view on the desktop' to open IE in a window.
Accept the little box that comes up, you can also make Google your default provider by ticking the box.
